Wandering in Hope

Wandering in Hope, in the Nuquist Gallery, is a new exhibition by Vermont-based artist Samantha Mercadante Eckert, featuring abstract painting, organic clay forms, sculpture, and fiber art. Through an intuitive, process-driven practice, Eckert explores themes of beauty, memory, longing, and resilience in a time shaped by technological change and post-pandemic uncertainty.

“Sea Wonders”

On view in the Nuquist Gallery, Sea Wonders is a joint installation by Vermont-based artists Carolyn Shapiro and Deb Fleischman celebrating our deep connection to the ocean. 16 vivid textile collages created by Carolyn Shapiro feature the diverse inhabitants of the ocean. Kelpy, an immersive ribbon display created by Deb Fleischman simulates a kelp forest guests can walk through. These combined works form a visual and sensory experience of a world underwater.
